Meyers Residence, Sequim, WAJanuary 2004This is the third grid-tied solar home on the Clallam PUD grid and has excellent southern exposure. This fine home has an excellent view of Sequim Bay to the north, and should be completed in early Summer 2004. Twenty-one PV panels are attached to the garage roof using recycled plastic lumber and door threshold peices as hold-downs. These new Sharp panels feature black frames and backing in order to appear more integrated into the roof. The DC disconnect and inverter were mounted in the garage. There is an AC disconnect mounted outside the garage for utility access. The customer has a net-metering agreement with Clallam PUD that allows them to be credited for any electricity they feed onto the grid, and they also took advantage of Clallam PUD's $450 per kilowatt rebate, in this instance $1350. They are also members of the NW Solar Co-op, which purchases the "green attributes" of all the clean power they produce.
