Zenovic / Pitts Residence, Port Angeles, WAJune 2004These clients took advantage of numerous Clallam PUD incentives that helped them decide to generate their own electricity using abundant and free solar energy. They are engaged in a net-metering contract which allows them to sell excess solar power for the same price that they are charged; they received an $1800 rebate ($450 per KW of PV); and they financed the project with a special low-interest loan from First Federal Bank available to Clallam PUD rate-payers. The home has an excellent unimpeded southern exposure (and view of Hurricane Ridge) to the south. The Snap-Loc metal roofing allowed Power Trip Energy to use some hardware we’ve seen for mounting heavy objects to standing metal seams without penetrations - very clean! |
